You can call it a comeback.
In November 2019, Salted made its debut. This venture was born from a mix of passion and desperation—an ardent love for crafting incredible cookies and the desperate circumstances of losing my job, leaving me feeling adrift in life. The response from you, my incredible supporters, was nothing short of overwhelming.
Over the subsequent year, I managed to sell over 600 dozen cookies, all produced in my little home kitchen. Naturally, I dreamt of more—perhaps a cozy trailside cafe that combined Salted and my love for cycling, or even a private commercial kitchen dedicated to scaling production. However, life had some punches to throw.
Instead of pursuing these ambitions, I found myself opting for yet another boring office job in exchange for a stable income. Simultaneously, I navigated the challenges of a divorce, leaving me feeling beyond drained and broken. I abandoned my love for baking, not touching my mixer for the next several years. During this period, I relinquished what felt like far-fetched dreams and my belief in myself.
For those who know me, you're aware I'm not one to openly spill life's messy details. Yet, I'm sharing Salted's story because it's proof of the resilience in each of us. Life continues to throw unexpected curves, yet Salted continues to teach me that change springs from breaking the cycle of discontent, and dreams can certainly be rekindled.
So, as I stand at this juncture ready to resurrect Salted from its hiatus, I want you to be a part of this renewed journey. Together, let’s start a new chapter filled with fresh dreams and cookies. Here we go, Salted 2.0!
